Keeping it Simple: My New Writing Game Plan

Hello everyone! It's Mechi here. I hope this newsletter finds you well. Whether you're reading or listening, I'm grateful for your continued engagement.

Looking Ahead

As we approach the end of November, I'd like to pose two important questions:

  • What are you currently working on?
  • What are your plans for 2025?

An Honest Note

I want to apologize for my inconsistency and absence. Moving forward, let me be transparent: I've learned that perfection isn't a prerequisite for progress. We learn by doing, and writing, like business, is a self-revealing journey that demands consistency and persistence.

My Creative Commitment

I'm simplifying my approach with two weekly goals:

  1. One short story (with multiple revisions as needed)
  2. One poem

To track this, I'm using a Notion dashboard, though any tracking system that works for you is fine.

Community Updates

Many of you have shared your preferences for newsletter content, including:

  • Poetry updates
  • My creative work
  • Writing resources

I'm pleased to announce that these elements will be gradually incorporated into both the newsletter and podcast, alongside documentation of my creative journey.

Celebrating Your Success

Congratulations to those who have recently published their work! Writing is more than artistic expression—it's a testament to our humanity and existence.

Connect With Me

I'd love to hear about:

  • Your progress since our last interaction
  • Any writing challenges you're facing
  • Content you'd like to see in future newsletters

Thank you for your continued support.

Every day, we look around, searching for a secret recipe for something we ought to be doing. We search for the magic sauce to our writing. We wait for a path that is sure to take us to where we want to go with our writing. But there is trouble. We do not know where we want to go.What if there’s nowhere to go? What if all there is to the story is the story itself? That it is your expression. That the world is from you, but a world of its own that speaks to this world.Whatever it is, it is...

Hi , I’m so glad you’re here. Seriously, it means the world to me that you’ve trusted me with a little corner of your inbox. This newsletter is for you—a fellow writer who, like me, loves weaving words into poetry, short stories, and everything in between. But here’s the deal: I want this to feel like our space. A place where you find inspiration, opportunities, and maybe even that little nudge to keep writing when the blank page feels intimidating. Since I’m just starting out, I’d love to...

I set myself a challenge: write a poem every day for a week. But why? Because I love writing poetry, yet I struggled with consistency. I needed to create a habit of showing up.
